Match Report: Pyrland School 3 – 2 Buckler’s Mead Academy.
By Mr Hedaux
The boys from Pyrland put in a determined and spirited performance to take home the win in a thrilling final against Buckler’s Mead.
First Half:
Pyrland started brightly and were rewarded when Ollie R opened the scoring with a composed finish to put the team 1–0 up. Despite strong defending from Jack D and Florian, who both impressed with solid challenges and great positioning, Bucklers Mead equalised just before half-time with a free kick that narrowly slipped past Panos.
Second Half:
The team came out firing after the break. Szymon pounced on a loose ball after several efforts on goal to restore the lead at 2–1. Buckler’s Mead responded with a quick counterattack to level the score again, but Pyrland weren’t finished. A great attacking move through the middle involving Harvey C and Croyde—who showed real grit despite briefly coming off with a right-foot knock—set up Ollie R for his second goal of the game and the match-winner.
