Pyrland U14 Girls Football Tournament. Report by Mr Stirzaker
Pyrland U14 girls travelled to Court Fields School for a tough tournament in terrible conditions, battling through persistent rain and strong winds throughout the day.
Despite the horrible weather, they showed fantastic attitude and determination, working hard in every game and competing strongly from start to finish. The team came away with two draws and one loss, a fair reflection of some closely fought matches where effort and resilience were on show at all times.
There were several standout performances, particularly from Peace, who produced some excellent moments with the ball and showed fantastic skill throughout the tournament. Bobbi (Year 7) also impressed massively, controlling the midfield with dominant tackling and clever passing play. Bobbi topped off her performance with a brilliant goal from a tight angle in the final minute to rescue a result and keep the team in the game.
Overall, the girls can be extremely proud of their effort and spirit, showing great resilience in the stormy conditions. And to round off the day, there was some brilliant team bonding too, with great singing on the minibus journey home!
