Pyrland School concluded their NBA.JR League and Year 11 basketball season in thrilling fashion with a 37-36 victory over Haygrove School. The game was an intense and dramatic affair, with both teams battling hard, and a clutch performance from Cam O in the final moments to secure the win.

Pyrland came out strong, dominating the first quarter with a 16-5 lead. The offense was efficient, and Cam O led the charge with 6 points. The defense was also tight, limiting Haygrove’s scoring opportunities and allowing Pyrland to take control early in the game.

In the second quarter, Haygrove found their rhythm, outscoring Pyrland 24-21. They chipped away at Pyrland’s lead, closing the gap by halftime. Some stellar performances by Hubert J and Max J kept Haygrove from running away with the game at halftime

The third quarter turned into a defensive struggle, with both teams matching each other point for point. The quarter finished tied at 4-4, as both sides battled to gain an edge. With the score still tight, Haygrove edged ahead in the final moments, leaving Pyrland trailing by 3 points with a running score of 25-28. This set the stage for a thrilling final quarter where the game would be decided.

The final quarter was nothing short of dramatic, with both teams giving their all as the game came down to the wire. Pyrland entered the quarter trailing 25-28, but they wasted no time getting to work. Over the next 12 minutes, the team scored 12 well-executed 2-pointers, each one coming from precise ball movement and well-timed cuts to the basket. The offense was flowing smoothly, with each player contributing to the team’s success.

As the clock wound down, the score was neck and neck, with the tension rising in the wellsprings. It all came down to the final moments. With just seconds remaining and Pyrland trailing by 1 point, Cam O proved to be the hero. After receiving a pass, he drove through two Haygrove defenders with remarkable determination and strength. With a defender to each side, Cam O powered through, making an impressive layup that found the back of the net just as the clock hit the final seconds.

The crowd erupted as Pyrland took the lead, 37-36, and Haygrove’s final attempt to respond came up short. Cam O’s clutch layup secured a thrilling 1-point victory for Pyrland, marking a fitting and unforgettable finish to the season.
