Our brilliant Year 9 young leaders assisted at the Year 3 athletics festival, hosted by Pyrland at the Wellsprings Centre.
The event was attended by six of our wonderful cluster schools and the children participated in a range of athletics, based on activities such as standing long jump, soft javelin, hurdles and the 6 x 10m run.
This festival requires the leaders to not only teach the students how to complete their activity, but also to ensure they did this is a safe manner whilst ensuring the children had lots of fun.
Additionally, they had to keep record of the times and distances, so we could celebrate star performances at the end of the festival.
Despite the demands of their role, the leaders all managed to maintain enthusiasm and energy throughout and we received lots of positive feedback from primary school staff.
Effie and Croyde in particular were highlighted for their boundless energy and lovely manner with the children. Rose and Lesley also did a great job meeting and welcoming the schools to the festival as they arrived.
We were extremely proud of them all, well done and a huge thank you.
