Year 11, with some Year 10 supporting players, had their penultimate game of the season under the floodlights at The Castle School this week.
.
The first half saw many attacking opportunities from both schools, but neither were able to convert them and so the first half ended 0-0. The second half started the same way, but The Castle then stepped up several gears resulting in our defence of Katherine, Poppy, Chloe and GK Esme soaking up a lot of pressure and having to defend many penalty corners.
.
Eventually, whilst we were down to 10 players due to injury and super midfielder Ella needing to leave for trampling, The Castle’s pressure became too much and they scored from close range.
.
The last five minutes was all Pyrland – our attackers Abi, Esme and Lucy managed to break into our attacking D several times but sadly we couldn’t score, so the match ended 0-1.
.
Taylor, Lily, Freya, Victory and Ella all worked tirelessly in midfield and as a team we battled so hard, remained positive and did ourselves proud. Well done!
