Message from John Abbott, CEO of the Richard Huish Trust.
.
It is with significant disappointment that we share with you the news that Lisa Webber has resigned from her post as Headteacher of Pyrland School. Everyone within Huish is extremely grateful for Lisa’s hard work, commitment and determination to improve the education for all students during her time at the school.
.
To ensure continuity for the staff and students at Pyrland School, Joanne James, Deputy Headteacher, will take on the role of Acting Headteacher until the end of the academic year. Joanne has worked at Pyrland School since September 2023 and will be supported by the existing senior leadership team and wider staff body.
.
One advantage of Pyrland School being part of Richard Huish Trust is that in dealing with this type of situation we are able to quickly rally help and support from other Huish Schools. To this end Matt Kerton, currently Headteacher of Nerrols School will be joining the Senior Management Team at Pyrland School as an Assistant Headteacher, from the 20th January until the end of this academic year. Matt will return to be Headteacher of Nerrols in September 2025 and will also continue to lead the strategic development and planning for next academic year.
.
Whilst Matt is away from Nerrols, Nick Arnold (Headteacher of Lyngford Park School) has kindly agreed to take over the day-to-day headteacher responsibilities at Nerrols School alongside his continued leadership of Lyngford Park. He will be splitting his time between both schools and will be supporting both school leadership teams.
