Pyrland School has joined the Royal British Legion Industries (RBLI) for the Queen’s Green Canopy Project. This is a unique tree planting initiative created to mark Her Majesty’s Platinum Jubilee in 2022, with organisations, local authorities, schools and individuals across the country being invited to ‘Plant a Tree for the Jubilee’.

 

On Friday 13th May Head Teacher John Eddy and Forest School Leader Tamara Dixon led a special planting ceremony, along with Rebecca Pow MP and her assistant Michael Asher. Mrs Pow said: “I was proud to unveil the hazel tree planted for the Queen’s Canopy with the British Legion. What a wonderful Forest School at Pyrland School.”

RBLI representatives were Des Wilson, Bob Trickey, Martin Hughes, Roger Prince, Sylvia Prince. Representative from the Pastor Team was Marilyn Gibson. The trumpeter was Luis Martelo, who played the national anthem.
