Have you heard? At Pyrland School, “Grease” is the Word!

The talented students and tireless teaching staff at Pyrland School have been “Hopelessly Devoted” over the last six months to rehearsals for our upcoming production of the iconic and much loved musical Grease. Set in 1950s America and featuring such classics as “Summer Nights”, “Beauty School Dropout” and “You’re The One That I Want!”, Final rehearsals are underway, and the cast, crew and live band are ready and raring to go!

Rock ‘N’ Roll is Here To Stay!

Opening night is at 6pm on Tuesday 19thMarch, with a further two opportunities to sample this feel-good Rock ‘n’ Roll feast on Wednesday 20th and Thursday 21st March. This is the first post-Covid theatrical production the school has hosted and our first as Pyrland School, so the cast are eager to show off their talents… Of which we have many!

We Go Together!

Stepping from the classroom into the spotlight has come naturally for our expert ensemble, who range in age from Year 7 to Year 11. Starring in the role of Danny Zuko is Sam F (Year 11) a very talented musician completing his BTEC in Music Practice this year. Alongside Sam two gifted singers shine in the shared role of Sandy, the amazingly talented and wonderful duo of Lily-Diana C (Year 9) and Casey-Mai J (Year 7.) Awesome Lucy T (Year 10) dazzles in the iconic dance role of Cha-Cha DiGregorio. Lucy is currently preparing to compete in a National Street Dance competition, having already been part of a winning national team in the past.

Alongside our students, several willing, fun loving and easily persuaded staff are braving the stage to take part as special guest stars in one of the musical numbers… You have been warned.
