We are delighted to announce that our School Chaplain Mrs Vercoe has been installed as a Prebendary of Wells Cathedral.
This honour was conferred during a special evensong service, in recognition of her exceptional service to children and young people throughout her career and voluntary work.
As our Senior Mental Health Lead, Mrs Vercoe’s impact on the lives of our pupils and the wider community is felt every day. Staff, students, family and friends celebrated this well deserved achievement, as she was installed by the Bishop of Bath and Wells as the Prebend of Taunton.
We couldn’t be prouder to see her work recognised in such a meaningful way. Please join us in congratulating Mrs Vercoe on this honour.
The Very Reverend Toby Wright, Dean of Wells, said: “Each of our new prebendaries brings their own skills to the life of the cathedral and will take the cathedral out to their communities as well, so that we’re deeply rooted across the whole of the diocese.”
