There were smiles all round at Pyrland School, as students collected their GCSE and vocational results. Whoops and tears of pride as students and their parents finally found out the results of months of hard work. |
Stand out achievements included George Mann, who achieved eight GCSEs at grade 9, one grade 8 and an ‘A’ grade in Further Maths. Alexis Bulluso who achieved four grade 9s and five grade 8s. Alen Raju whose grades included four grade 9s and three grade 8s.
Other students achieving an incredible set of grades including 7s, 8s and 9s include Sam King, James Sanders, Megan Tribe, Jasper Turner, Sam Freeman and Issac Oxer.
Headteacher Lisa Webber said “We are so proud of the Class of ‘24. This exceptional group of young people had their early secondary education severely affected by Covid lockdowns, but despite this they have triumphed. Results have improved in every measure since last year, and are higher than the last ‘normal’ results (pre-pandemic) in 2019. This is down to the hard work and resilience of our staff, students and community.
“Results day is not only about achieving the highest grades – we are also celebrating students who achieved higher than their target grades, such as Divvya Biswas, Iris Popescu, Angelou Vargas, Dishaa Biswas, Kieran Vowles, Kara Thompson, Jessica Sidorczuk and Toby Thurlow. These students exceeded expectations and should be very proud indeed today.
“Students are now destined for a range of exciting destinations – to study A Levels and vocational courses and to start apprenticeships. We will miss them, but we can’t wait to hear about their new adventures.”
