Young Enterprise Team

Our new Young Enterprise team, Omnus, launched last November. They have set up a clothing brand which will be online shortly and available for sale at school events. Cool t-shirts, with new hoodies in the pipeline. The band is eco friendly and promotes inclusivity. The team is competing to become Young Company of the Year in 2023 so needs your support. We will be keeping you updated on their progress.

Tink A-C, the team’s Head of Communications, said: “We want our clothing to be worn by everyone, no matter their gender or size, so we’ve developed a t-shirt initially to test the water and see what will be popular. Sales so far have been really good, we did a cake sale at school and sold lots there. We’re planning to do other school events and also working on a website so we can sell direct. We have a diverse team, with lots of crazy ideas, so it will be fun.”

Matt Bernard, Pyrland School’s Assistant Head, Personal Development, said: “They are all very enthusiastic about this enterprise, which is lovely to see. We are very lucky to have some mentors from the business community in Taunton who will be coming into school each week to advise the team, which I think they will really benefit from. It’s the first time our school has entered a competition like this, so we’re all behind the team and will be encouraging them every step of the way.”

Young Enterprise is a national financial and enterprise education charity. The Company Programme is a national initiative which gives school students aged 13 – 19 the opportunity to develop employability skills and prepare for the world of work by setting up and running their own company.

Supported by HSBC UK, the event sees some of the UK’s brightest young entrepreneurial minds competing for a series of awards.
