Regional Finals Young Enterprise Awards 2023
A group of Year 10 students have been taking part in the Young Enterprise Company programme, after forming their company Omnus earlier in the year. They started with a bake sale to raise money to buy ethically produced white t-shirts which they printed with their Omnus logo. They were then ready to start selling at trade shows and other venues, using the profits to buy more stock and expand their range to black t-shirts and eventually black /white hoodies.
Under the scheme they have created various presentations in front of an audience and panel of judges, including a Dragon’s Den event in Taunton, to eventually reach the regional finals held at Yeovil College.
They were up against six other teams in the age range of 14-18. It was an excellent day, starting with setting up their trade stands and interviews by the judging panel followed by their presentation in the hall and finishing with the announcement of the results and handing out rewards for different categories.
Team Omnus won the award for creativity, they were amazing and a credit to our school.
