Information for parents/carers who would be interested in signing up for workshops led by Somerset’s Autism and Communication team.
.
The new sessions provide a series of workshops (some online and some in person) covering a range of topics relating to neuro diversity, but also a series of workshops on wider themes that parent carers have told us would be useful, including:
.
- Emotional based school avoidance
- Establishing routines and using visuals
- Helping your child with sleep difficulties
- Social stories
- Managing behaviour that challenges
- Helping your child through transition
- Helping your child manage their anxiety
- Helping your child understand the changes that come with growing up
- Understanding sensory differences
- Supporting communication through play
Please see below the ‘Wise up Booklet 2023/24’ which gives an overview of all the sessions taking place throughout the year and details of how parent carers can book a space to attend. Also below is a flyer for the up-coming neuro developmental workshops taking place through October, November and December.
