Year 8 students’ first visit in the footsteps of the romantic poets. They experienced a range of creative activities walking through the glorious parkland. Sketching from found natural objects, listening to poetry read by visiting artists, hearing the sounds of the woodland and writing their own poetry.
Exploring the underworld of the huge fallen oak, hiding in the trees and becoming a creature, posting a wish in the magical oak, visiting the 200 year old twisted birch and listening to Jed from the Quantock landscape partnership give a talk about the trees. Sitting around the campfire and drawing the 500 year old oak using oak hall ink.
Thank you Alice Crane from Somerset Partnership Arts Education Agency for a busy and wonderful day.
